Initially designed as a plant shelter, the Lisbon Estufa Fria, venue Portugal, is a space where you can enjoy pleasant moments amongst pools, waterfalls, creeks, statues and hundreds of species of different plants from all over the world.



This 800 m2 multipurpose space, Estufa Fria - Portugal venue, is now available for staging any type of event (parties, weddings in Portugal, conferences and congresses, inter alia), there by bringing back the glamour, mysticism and power of attraction which has always accompanied it since its construction in the 1950’s.

The Lisbon Estufa Fria (Wedding Venue Portugal) designed by the respected engineer Edgar Cardoso, dates back to the 1950’s and it was built with the mission of carrying on the design of the large central avenue (Parque Eduardo VII) which, as it was devised with the same width as Av. da Liberdade, clashed with the excavated quarry area (situated in the Estufa Fria - Lisbon - Venue Portugal). This is why it proved necessary to build this spacious vaulted building as a way of overcoming the excavated span.

It is thus a semi-buried building made of reinforced concrete comprising ten arches which accompany the slope of the hill on which it is located, including, at the Northern end, a rock outcrop of basalt. The interior is lined in gravel pebbles, resembling washed marmorite.
